The WBCA Jalapeño Festival, presented by La Costeña, is turning up the heat once again with a sizzling two-night music and entertainment spectacular — now at its new home at the Sames Auto Arena parking lot.
Set for Friday, February 6, and Saturday, February 7, 2026, the 48th Annual festival promises two unforgettable nights of live music, signature competitions, incredible food, and fiery fun.
“The Jalapeño Festival has always been about great music, great food, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere,” said WBCA President Jaime Fuentes. “With the move to our new location at the Sames Auto Arena parking lot, we’re bringing fans closer to the stage, to the action, and to the energy that defines this event. The 2026 festival will deliver the same spirit Laredo has come to love — only bigger and better.”
The La Costeña Jalapeño Festival once again delivers two full nights of world-class live music, headlined by some of the most influential names in Latin rock and regional Mexican music.
Friday Night – February 6, 2026 | Latin Rock Legends Take the Stage
Friday night ignites the festival with an electrifying Latin rock showcase headlined by Caifanes, one of the most iconic and influential bands in Spanish-language rock history. Joining them is Enanitos Verdes, the legendary Argentine rock group whose timeless hits have soundtracked generations of fans across Latin America and the United States. Opening the night is Laredo’s own Bajo Silencio, a powerful local rock band bringing hometown pride and high-energy performance to kick off the weekend.
Saturday Night – February 7, 2026 | Regional Mexican Powerhouse
Saturday night belongs to regional Mexican music fans, with a blockbuster performance by Banda MS, one of the genre’s most successful and chart-topping acts. Known for their sold-out tours and massive fan following, Banda MS will headline the festival’s marquee night. Opening the evening is La Firma, a beloved group with deep roots and a strong regional following, setting the tone for an unforgettable Saturday celebration.
A FESTIVAL WITH FLAVOR AND FIRE
No Jalapeño Festival would be complete without the spicy competitions that made it famous.
On Friday, February 6, festivalgoers can cheer, shout, and celebrate during the El Grito Contest and Miss Jalapeño Contest, where contestants showcase their talents for prizes and bragging rights.
Then on Saturday, February 7, the spotlight shifts to the main stage for the legendary La Costeña Jalapeño Eating Contest — the event that started it all. Contestants from across Texas and beyond will test their limits as they race to eat as many jalapeños as possible in 15 minutes, fueled by a roaring crowd.
Winners receive cash prizes, La Costeña product baskets, and eternal bragging rights as the Jalapeño Champion of Laredo. Participants can register in advance at jalapenofestival.org.
